Dr. ShinJa (Sarah) Uhm is a New York State licensed acupuncturist. She has been practicing across several boroughs of New York City since 2019. Currently she sees patients at Chung Ying Physical Therapy & Acupuncture, located in Forest Hills, NY.

After receiving her Bachelor of Medicine in Chinese Medicine from Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, Dr. Uhm earned her Ph.D. in oriental medicine from American Liberty University. In addition to acupuncture, she is also a licensed massage therapist and is board certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork.

Patients book appointments with Dr. Uhm for acupuncture or Chinese medicine consultations, acupressure, and cupping. She is specialized in treating a wide array of conditions, including seasonal allergies, autoimmune diseases, digestive issues, sleep disorders, depression, anxiety, and women’s health issues.

Dr. Uhm recognizes the connection between mind and body. She strives to track down the root of her patients’ symptoms through thorough assessments and active communication with her patients. In the goal of providing the most effective course of treatment, Dr. Uhm insists on personalizing treatment plans for each individual. As a bilingual acupuncturist speaking English and Korean, Dr. Uhm caters and provides the best form of care to patients from different cultural backgrounds. She is proficient in the management of a variety of conditions and offers warm, empathic, and collaborative care.
